COVID Updates

Emergency Information and Instructions

Updated March 16, 3:50 p.m.

As a precautionary measure, Tampa Prep will remain closed through March 30, 2020, due to coronavirus concerns and containment efforts in the greater Tampa Bay area. (March 16-23 is spring break.) At this point, Tampa Prep intends to reopen on March 30, 2020.

Staff and administrators will be working remotely; however, Tampa Prep teams will not compete, Prep and non-Prep activities are cancelled or postponed, and school facilities are closed March 13-29, 2020. All students should remain off campus until the school reopens.

“Although we have no known cases of coronavirus at Tampa Prep, we still urge our community to remain calm, informed, and poised to support children as we navigate these challenging times,” commented Kevin Plummer, Head of School for Tampa Prep. “School is one of the stabilizing routines of our lives, and we will continue to maintain as much of a sense of normalcy that we can.”

Currently, students need to be prepared to engage in online communication with their teachers beginning, at the earliest, on Tuesday, March 24. On that day, there will be a communication sent to students and parents with specific instructions regarding what online learning and interactions may entail.

Tampa Prep will continue to communicate via email and more specifically about the resumption of school and campus activities. As events unfold, we urge caution in the use of social media as a source for guidance and vital information to protect you and your family.
