Peer Tutoring Program is LIVE!

The new Peer Tutoring Program is going live this week! Student tutors are working with Academic Counselors Sarah Johnson and Jen Greseth to better understand the psychology of positive coaching and learn some active protocols for helping students learn via Zoom. Peer tutors are ready to offer academic support for students in all grades and most subjects, and they are available for both single meetings to help a student prepare for a test or major assignment, and for on-going, long term help for Quarter 3 classes. Requests for a tutor should be made by a student's advisor, who will ensure that the student has sought help from their classroom teacher before finding a tutor. Please reach out to Mia Franz (mfranz@tampaprep.org) if you have any questions.

Maker Days 2021 (2)

Maker Days are Back!

Maker Days in the library from 3:30 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. on the first C and D days of most weeks

Maker Days are a chance for middle and upper school students to hang out, work on projects and learn new skills. We've revamped it a bit to work with social distancing and safety, while still being able to create awesome projects together. Each week has a different theme, but we'll also have some open days where you can work on whatever projects you want. Themes include 3D printing, robot obstacle courses, paper circuits and more.  Everyone is welcome.

The Library in the Time of COVID
By Diana Rendina, Media Specialist

During the 2020-2021 school year, our library (and the way our students check out books) looks a little bit different.  To help manage social distancing throughout the school, one area of our library is serving as an Upper School U.S. history classroom, while in the back area we’re storing excess furniture that can’t fit in our spaces.  Because of this, students are only allowed to come to the library to check out books, study and use the printer before school, during passing periods and after school.  Since access to the physical space of the library is more limited this year, I’ve been working on finding ways to bring the library to our students.
