My Post

Tributes must be purchased by Tomorrow, Dec. 11

As a tradition, the Tampa Prep yearbook, Talisman, provides a venue for parents to congratulate their graduating senior, the graduation of an 8th grader into the Upper School, or simply congratulate a son or daughter on their academic or athletic success. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are asking families to design their tributes at home using the Balfour AdBuilder. Tributes can be purchased, designed, and submitted online. It is as simple as visiting Balfour.com, creating an account, and designing your tribute!

We are asking that tributes be purchased by TOMORROW, December 11 and finished designs be submitted by January 20.

Student goes above and beyond for Donation Drive

Derek Stiglich '25 embraced Tampa Prep's Meals on Wheels Holiday Gift Drive as a way to work toward a higher purpose than self, one of our core values. Derek created his own flyer for the service project and requested donations from neighbors and friends. His community, inspired by his leadership, responded beautifully with hand trucks full of items purchased just for the Meals on Wheels Holiday Gift Drive.

Thank you to everyone in the Tampa Prep community who donated to this year's drive!

Dec 2020 Blood Drives

Blood Drive was a Success!

Students and faculty donated 40 units of blood Tuesday and Wednesday. Each donation can help up to 3 people, which means Tampa Prep helped save anywhere from 40-120 lives as a result!

Advanced Physics Students Study Newton's Laws

Students in Mr. Brian Williams' Advanced Physics class used a pulley and trolley to measure an unknown mass in the physics lab. This experiment is a demonstration of Newton's Second Law which states that the net force acting on an object is directly proportional to its acceleration.

The Library in the Time of COVID
By Diana Rendina, Media Specialist

During the 2020-2021 school year, our library (and the way our students check out books) looks a little bit different.  To help manage social distancing throughout the school, one area of our library is serving as an Upper School U.S. history classroom, while in the back area we’re storing excess furniture that can’t fit in our spaces.  Because of this, students are only allowed to come to the library to check out books, study and use the printer before school, during passing periods and after school.  Since access to the physical space of the library is more limited this year, I’ve been working on finding ways to bring the library to our students.
